Description

Implement best practice Change procedures to ensure robust testing, documentation and communication before making changes in the production environment.

Key Outputs

• Draft procedures to support ITS011 - IT Infrastructure and Systems Change Management Policy.  To be submitted to the Committee for I.T. Planning around Academic Priorities for consideration so the tentative approval for the policy can be confirmed.
  
  
• Updated and approved policy (if required by the committee).
  
  
• Completed procedures published on the intranet.
  
  
• Procedures in place and operational.

Project Schedule

Commenced in 2007.  Draft procedures to be submitted for consideration of the Committee for I.T. Planning around Academic Priorities at its 3 March 2008 meeting.  Policy and procedures to be finalised by end March and implemented throughout 2008.  Testing regimes cannot be implemented until the test environments exist.  Approval structures to be implemented by end April 2008.

Project Status

As at 30 December 2007

In progress.  Interim procedures have been developed and in use whilst the policy was under development / under consideration.  A contractor has been recommended to develop procedures to support the new policy (tentatively approved 10 December).  Expected completion date is Q1 2008.
