Committee for I.T. Planning around Academic Priorities
Terms of Reference
The Committee will develop a strategic plan for I.T. that creates an environment:
- To support learning and teaching and research
- To enrich the student experience (including the research student experience)
through the seamless integration of infrastructure and academic priorities and the creative use of Information Technology.
The Committee will oversee
- the identification and development of enterprise-wide core systems for learning and research
- the systems integration of core administrative systems with enterprise-wide core systems for learning and research, where appropriate
- the development of standards for, and the provision of, ICT-supported formal teaching spaces and informal learning spaces
- the provision of secure and stable on- and off-campus access to University systems and repositories
- the secure storage, management and access to Macquarie-created repositories of learning objects and research databases
- the secure access to enterprise-adopted, commercially-produced databases on- and off-campus; and
- segregate a portion of the I.T. Budget for innovative pilot projects that test the application of technology for academic purposes.
